Having family time can be fun and educational when playing a board game. This Diceapades Word Pirate game will help you achieve both. For all those lazy “fall” rainy days I have something for you and your child to keep busy. This game is a great way to encourage your children to embrace a love of learning.
Word Pirate is a fun way to help your child spell words, sound out those words while building your vocabulary This game can be played with 2 to 4 people and is great for ages 6 and up.
My son who is six and in the first grade thought the Word Pirate game was great because he was able to use the words that he is learning in school on this game. He was excited to show me how he can spell and how he connected the words together. In fact he surprised me a few times with his choice of words.
The Word Pirate game comes with:
- 100 Letter Dice
- 1 Jumbo Dice
- 4 Pirate Pawns
- Game Board
- 10 Bridges and 10 wall pieces
The object of this game is to start from each pirate boat. Players will then roll letter dice to build bridges of words. You can use the rock walls to block your enemies paths and then make your way across the shark waters to reach the pirate treasure. The first one that reaches the loot wins the game.
I believe that the Word Pirates game is made with quality materials. The board seems to be durable and is easy to put together. The colors on the board are colorful and fun. The dice are big and easy to hold for your child. The Word Pirates game has won the parents choice award in 2008 from Creative Child Magazine. This game would be great to add to your home collection of board games and would be ideal for home schoolers and classrooms.
